About the role#
As an Audiology Extern at WSA, you will work under the supervision of a clinical preceptor to provide hearing care services. This role involves clinical testing, diagnosis, and patient support while maintaining professional standards and office operations. You will coordinate closely with your university program throughout your externship.
What you'll do#
- Perform audiometry, immittance testing, tinnitus evaluations, optoacoustic emissions testing, and vestibular evaluations.
- Administer all testing according to clinical protocols and state or federal laws.
- Evaluate test results to identify communication issues and provide appropriate recommendations.
- Consult with your supervisor or clinical educators when managing challenging fittings.
- Maintain expertise in fitting, troubleshooting, and selling current hearing aid technology.
- Work with the center team to meet net revenue goals.
- Keep the office clean and organized to ensure a professional environment for patients.
- Comply with FDA and company practice guidelines.
- Maintain your professional license and complete CEU requirements.
What you'll need#
- Completion of 2-3 years in a Graduate Audiology Doctoral Program.
- Ability to obtain a temporary, provisional, or training license for hearing aid dispensing or audiology as required by the state.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately.
- Experience interacting with clients or customers.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills to explain technical information.
