About the role#
As an Audiology Extern at WSA, you will work under the direct supervision of an Audiologist Preceptor. This position involves clinical practice within a team environment to provide hearing care while meeting defined revenue goals. You will gain hands-on experience in a professional setting while maintaining compliance with FDA and internal practice guidelines.
What you'll do#
- Perform hearing tests and diagnostics, including audiometry, immittance testing, tinnitus evaluations, optoacoustic emissions, and vestibular evaluations.
- Evaluate test results to identify communication issues and provide patient recommendations.
- Consult with your Preceptor or clinical educators when managing complex fittings.
- Manage the selling, fitting, and troubleshooting of hearing aid technology.
- Maintain professional statistics and ensure the office remains clean and organized.
- Keep your professional license and continuing education requirements current.
What you'll need#
- Completion of 2-3 years in a Graduate Audiology Doctoral Program.
- Ability to obtain a temporary, provisional, limited, or training permit for hearing aid dispensing or audiology.
- Experience interacting with customers or clients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to explain technical information clearly.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work accurately and independently.
