About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will join the civil design team to work on infrastructure projects for municipalities, cities, and counties. You will work alongside licensed engineers on projects that impact local communities. This role is based in our Columbia or Greenville offices and requires a mix of on-site and office work.
What you'll do#
- Design channels, detention basins, and storm sewers.
- Assist with site work and water distribution projects.
- Perform calculations, prepare cost estimates, and develop design plans.
- Use software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Google Earth, and ArcPro.
- Coordinate with internal teams, subconsultants, and clients.
- Complete 1-2 site visits to see project progress.
- Solve problems and manage tasks with independence.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, preferably at the sophomore level or higher.
- Pursuit of a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- A specific interest in water-related infrastructure design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage your time effectively.
- Comfort working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

- Locations: Columbia, SC or Greenville, SC.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May/June through August).
- Work Modality: Hybrid and on-site.
