About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 semester. You will join our aviation design team in Kansas City to support planning, design, and construction projects. You will work alongside licensed professionals on projects for the FAA, DOTs, and various airports. This position requires a mix of in-office work and site visits.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across all project phases, from initial planning to construction.
- Assist with technical tasks including calculations, data analysis, cost estimates, and the preparation of design plans.
- Create drawings and renderings using AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office products.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external subconsultants, and clients.
- Visit construction sites to observe project progress firsthand.
- Manage tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence while meeting quality standards.
- Communicate regularly with your manager and leadership regarding project scope, schedule, and client needs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university, preferably with at least sophomore status.
- Pursuit of a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- A genuine interest in aviation infrastructure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work well within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Exceptional multitasking and time management skills.

- Location: Kansas City, Missouri.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May-August).
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday.
