About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 semester. You will join the Civil design team in Salt Lake City to support airport infrastructure projects, including runways, taxiways, and hangars. This role offers hands-on experience working alongside licensed professionals on projects for the FAA, DOTs, and various airports. You will work a 40-hour week in a hybrid environment.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across all project phases, from initial programming to final construction.
- Assist with technical tasks including calculations, data analysis, cost estimates, and the preparation of design plans.
- Use software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office to support project goals.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external subconsultants, and clients.
- Partner with leadership to monitor project scope, risk, schedules, and financial performance.
- Participate in site visits to observe active construction projects.
- Solve problems and complete assigned tasks with a high degree of independence.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment at an accredited college or university, preferably with at least sophomore status.
- Pursuit of a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- A genuine interest in aviation infrastructure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Effective multitasking and time management skills.
