About the role#
The New York office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is hiring a Pro Bono Intern to support our Pro Bono team. This yearlong, part-time internship provides hands-on experience within a law firm environment. We work around student schedules to support a part-time, year-round commitment.
What you'll do#
- Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on pro bono matters.
- Assist with client intake, case file organization, and maintaining case tracking databases.
- Prepare correspondence and other legal documents.
- Provide administrative and operational support to pro bono attorneys and staff.
- Assist with outreach efforts, event coordination, and partnership initiatives with legal aid organizations and nonprofit partners.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate college degree program or similar degree.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build interpersonal relationships.
- Previous office experience is a plus.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, NY.
- Work Modality: This is an on-site role. You must be able to commit two to three days in the office, specifically Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
- Compensation: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour.
- Physical requirements: Ability to sit at a desk for most of the workday, work in close proximity to others, and lift or carry objects up to 15 lbs.
