About the role#
Whittier Trust Company offers a 10-week summer internship for students interested in wealth management. This program provides exposure to both Client Advisory and Portfolio Management teams. You will work on real-world projects, assist with data analysis, and support our professional staff in serving high-net-worth families. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Support Client Advisors with daily account management and business development tasks in Salesforce.
- Build and update financial models while conducting market and company research.
- Create custom reports, including cash flow analyses and balance sheets.
- Analyze earnings calls and synthesize equity, fixed income, and economic research data.
- Use tools like Bloomberg, FactSet, and Excel to generate reports for Portfolio Managers.
- Assist with tracking composite performance and ensuring portfolio alignment with firm outlooks.
- Handle administrative tasks such as presentation creation and document preparation.
- Research, write, and present a major project to the investment and wider team.
- Attend and assist with client events.
What you'll need#
- Current progress toward a Bachelor's degree, ideally in Finance or Economics.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and emotional maturity.
- A demonstrated interest in the wealth management industry.
- Involvement in extra-curricular activities.
- Excellent academic credentials.

- Locations: Pasadena, Orange County, West LA, San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, and Reno.
