About the role#
Whittier Trust Company offers a 10-week summer internship for students interested in wealth management. This program provides exposure to investment management, fiduciary services, and family office operations. Interns work on-site and participate in a major research project presented to the investment team.
What you'll do#
- Support Client Advisors with daily account management and business development tasks in Salesforce.
- Build and update financial models while conducting market and company research.
- Generate custom reports including cash flow analyses, balance sheets, and portfolio monitoring using tools like Addepar, Bloomberg, FactSet, and Excel.
- Synthesize equity, fixed income, and economic research data.
- Analyze earnings conference calls to evaluate company performance.
- Assist Portfolio Managers with administrative tasks such as presentation creation, printing, and binding.
- Attend client events and help maintain composite performance records.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a Bachelor's degree, ideally in Finance or Economics.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intellectual curiosity, emotional intelligence, and maturity.
- A demonstrated interest in the wealth management industry.
- Involvement in extra-curricular activities.
- Excellent academic credentials.

- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- The program runs for 10 weeks, starting June 7, 2027.
- Positions are available in Pasadena, San Francisco, San Diego, and other California locations, as well as Seattle, Washington, and Reno, Nevada.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available.
