About the role#
Whittier Trust Company offers a 10-week summer internship program for students interested in wealth management. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site at our offices in Pasadena, Orange County, West LA, San Francisco, San Diego, Washington, or Nevada. The program runs during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
Interns support our Client Advisory and Portfolio Management teams through a variety of analytical and administrative tasks. You will gain exposure to the daily operations of a multi-family office.
- Assist Client Advisors with account management and organize business development data in Salesforce.
- Build and update financial models and conduct market and company research.
- Create custom reports including cash flow analyses, balance sheets, and portfolio performance tracking.
- Synthesize equity, fixed income, and economic research data to support investment decisions.
- Analyze earnings conference calls to evaluate company performance.
- Assist with client events and provide administrative support for presentations.
- Research, write, and present a major project to the investment and wider firm team.
What you'll need#
We look for students who demonstrate maturity and a genuine interest in the wealth management industry. Priority is given to those graduating in 2026 or 2027.
- Progress toward a Bachelor's degree, ideally in Finance or Economics.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and research skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and a record of extra-curricular involvement.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
