About the role#
Whittier Trust Company offers a 10-week summer internship for students interested in wealth management. This is a full-time, paid, on-site program. You will work directly with Client Advisors and Portfolio Managers to support account management, financial research, and client services.
What you'll do#
- Assist Client Advisors with daily account management and business development tasks in Salesforce.
- Create custom financial reports, including cash flow analyses and balance sheets.
- Build and update financial models and track composite performance.
- Conduct market and company research using tools like Bloomberg and FactSet.
- Analyze earnings conference calls to evaluate company performance.
- Collect and organize data on equity, fixed income, and economic trends.
- Support portfolio analysis to ensure alignment with firm outlooks.
- Handle administrative tasks, such as creating presentations and preparing materials for client events.
- Research, write, and present a major project to the investment team.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance or Economics.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and emotional maturity.
- A demonstrated interest in the wealth management industry.
- A record of strong academic performance and involvement in extra-curricular activities.
Location & details#
- Locations: Pasadena, West LA, San Francisco, San Diego, and other California offices, plus Seattle, Washington, and Reno, Nevada.
- Term: Summer 2027, beginning June 7, 2027.
- Work authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship is not available.
