About the role#
Westlake offers a Summer 2027 internship for students interested in plant manufacturing safety and environmental operations. This role provides hands-on experience and training within a chemical manufacturing environment. You will work under the supervision of a mentor to gain insight into daily plant activities.
What you'll do#
- Complete assigned projects with guidance from your mentor.
- Observe the activities of your assigned department or unit.
- Assist your supervisor with day-to-day tasks.
- Participate in complex safety and environmental programs.
- Keep a journal of your work and activities throughout the summer.
- Prepare and deliver a presentation to the management team.
What you'll need#
- Completion of your first year of college.
- Current enrollment as an active student.
- A major in Health, Safety, and Environmental studies.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

- Location: Calvert City, Kentucky.
