About the role#
As an intern in the Special Investigations Unit, you will conduct research into suspected insurance fraud across auto, property, casualty, and workers compensation lines. You will work alongside investigative staff and internal stakeholders to evaluate suspicious transactions and support fraud detection efforts.
What you'll do#
- Identify red flags and gather facts to document evidence in line with legal requirements.
- Learn and follow procedures regarding state fraud statutes, privacy laws, and FCRA/DPPA considerations.
- Use internal and external databases to collect information while following strict confidentiality protocols.
- Translate analytical findings into actionable intelligence for investigations.
- Assist with law enforcement or regulatory referrals by validating data accuracy.
- Maintain investigative documentation and support information requests.
- Collaborate with investigative staff to evaluate suspicious claims, underwriting, and policy transactions.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Criminal Justice or Business Administration.
- Basic knowledge of personal computers and proficiency in data entry software.
- Skills in data research, intelligence gathering, and evidence collection.
- Ability to follow directions within investigative research processes.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to use digital tools for research and data analysis.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in West Bend, Wisconsin.
