About the role#
As an Operations Intern, you will support initiatives designed to improve customer satisfaction, increase sales margins, and reduce operating expenses. This role provides a practical environment to apply classroom knowledge while learning techniques from industry professionals. You will work with a mentor to complete assigned projects and present your results. This position involves interacting with various functional areas within the distribution center and custom assembly services.
What you'll do#
- Recommend, prioritize, and implement projects to create improvement opportunities.
- Set and achieve specific project goals.
- Collaborate with employees at all levels to identify and eliminate process waste.
- Initiate sustainable process improvement activities.
- Provide hands-on training and technical support.
- Formalize and administer continuous improvement activities to drive Lean methodology.
- Develop and implement performance metrics to support business strategies.
- Track and validate savings attributed to project deployment.
- Participate in weekly safety, quality, or lean meetings.
- Take part in a Kaizen event.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited degree program in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Continuous Improvement, or a related field.
