About the role#
The Community Engagement Intern works across several areas of the Development Department to support our mission of transforming the lives of those impacted by sexual exploitation. This role offers practical experience in volunteer management, donor relations, and nonprofit communications. You will work 15 to 20 hours per week and collaborate with team members on diverse projects to gain a thorough understanding of nonprofit operations.
What you'll do#
- Manage social media content and analyze trends on our Facebook page and e-communications.
- Maintain Constant Contact lists and research influencer engagement.
- Support volunteer program operations, including onboarding and collecting service data.
- Manage volunteer records in our online application system.
- Collaborate with the Community Engagement Team to recruit volunteers.
- Document, organize, and distribute in-kind donations.
- Track in-kind donations and maintain wishlists on platforms like Amazon and Purposity.
- Maintain donor records in Salesforce and follow up with donors for documentation and appreciation.
- Research new corporate and community partnerships.
- Assist with planning and executing gift giving campaigns.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, media, retail management, business, or a related field.
- Passion for nonprofit work and alignment with our mission.
- Strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
- High level of detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter with good time management.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google Workspace, and administrative tasks.
- Reliable transportation for travel between locations.
- Experience with in-kind donation coordination, volunteer engagement, Canva Pro, or Salesforce is a plus.
