Imaging Intern - Diagnostic Radiology - Evening

About the role#

The Imaging Intern in Diagnostic Radiology performs radiographic procedures at a technical level under the direction of a Certified Radiographer. This role requires the use of independent judgment and initiative to maintain quality standards and ensure the safety of patients and visitors within the designated work area.

What you'll do#

• Perform radiographic procedures at a technical level.
• Transfer and position patients, utilizing immobilization devices when necessary.
• Operate imaging equipment and select technical factors to produce quality diagnostic images.
• Provide radiation protection for patients and yourself according to safety standards.
• Maintain a sanitary environment by practicing sterile techniques and universal precautions.
• Document patient activity in computer systems according to departmental procedures.
• Assess and interpret age-specific patient data to provide appropriate treatment.
• Comply with safety regulations, report potential hazards, and participate in safety education programs.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited radiologic technology program.
• Satisfactory completion of all clinical competency requirements within your program.
• Understanding of radiation safety standards.
• Knowledge of growth and development principles across the human life span.
• Ability to provide direct patient care to assigned age groups.
