About the role#
Wealthsimple is looking for a Design Intern for an 8-month term starting in Winter 2027. You will join our Product Design team to help shape the financial products used by millions of Canadians. This is a hands-on role where you will contribute to real initiatives, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and see your work reach production.
What you'll do#
- Work alongside Senior and Staff Product Designers on meaningful product initiatives.
- Own smaller projects from the initial problem definition through to idea exploration and final shipping.
- Design high-quality UI and interactions while building your product judgment.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to learn how concepts move into shipped products.
- Participate in customer research and feedback sessions to understand user needs.
What you'll need#
- Experience using Figma to design and prototype product experiences.
- Enrollment in a Canadian post-secondary institution, technical bootcamp, or recent graduate status.
- Strong interest in product design and a curiosity about how digital products are built.
- Ability to learn new problem spaces quickly and dig into complex domains.
- Enthusiasm for talking to customers and using research to inform design decisions.
- A collaborative mindset and a willingness to share ideas.
Location & details#
- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Modality: Hybrid. You must be able to commute to our Toronto headquarters on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
- Term: Winter 2027 (8 months).
- Employment: Full-time.
- Compensation: CAD $74,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on your year of study and experience.
