About the role#
We are looking for an Engineering Summer Intern to join our Industrial Commercial Energy group in Flint. This is a full-time, paid internship for the summer of 2027. You will work on-site and collaborate with various departments, including Planning, Structural Design, and Hydraulic and Hydrology.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine calculations under the guidance of a senior engineer.
- Analyze continuous flow and rainfall data.
- Assist engineers in developing spreadsheet tools.
- Obtain project drawings from local municipalities.
- Handle administrative tasks such as copying and scanning project documents.
- Work alongside project managers and engineering staff.
- Communicate with staff and clients while maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Ensure a safe working environment at all times.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for Civil or Environmental Engineering. Sophomore or junior status is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and a self-motivated approach.
- Clear communication skills.
- Knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit is a plus.
