About the role#
Wade Trim is hiring an Engineer Summer Intern for the Industrial Commercial Energy group in Columbus. This is a paid, full-time internship for the summer of 2027. You will work on-site and gain exposure to several departments, including Planning, Structural Design, and Hydraulic and Hydrology. We prioritize mentorship and skill development for all staff members.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine engineering calculations under the guidance of a senior engineer.
- Analyze continuous flow and rainfall data.
- Assist with the development of spreadsheet tools.
- Obtain drawings from local municipalities and handle project document tasks like scanning and copying.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering staff to support project goals.
- Maintain strong client relations and communicate effectively with the project team.
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering. Students with freshman or sophomore status are preferred.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- You should be comfortable using Microsoft Office.
- Experience with GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit is a plus.
- We look for candidates who are self-motivated, organized, and clear communicators.
