About the role#
Wade Trim is hiring an Engineering Summer Intern to join the Water Resources group in Detroit. This is a full-time, paid internship for the summer of 2027. You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with project managers and engineers across the Planning, Design, and Hydraulic and Hydrology departments.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine calculations under the supervision of a senior engineer.
- Analyze continuous flow and rainfall data.
- Assist engineers in building spreadsheet tools.
- Obtain project drawings from local municipalities.
- Copy and scan project documents.
- Communicate project details with engineering staff and clients.
- Maintain safe working conditions and positive client relations.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering. Preference is given to students with freshman or sophomore status.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational skills and a self-motivated approach.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit is a plus.
