About the role#
Wade Trim is hiring an Engineer Intern for our Construction group in Bay City, Michigan. This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will work on-site and support our team with various construction engineering tasks.
What you'll do#
- Interpret project plans and technical specifications.
- Conduct field inspections and keep track of work item quantities.
- Perform field or laboratory material tests.
- Manage project files and record drawings.
- Write construction reports and project status updates.
- Perform soil erosion and sediment control inspections.
- Review technical data to ensure it meets project requirements.
- Assist with preliminary cost estimates and evaluate quantities.
- Help review the scope, budget, and schedule for new tasks.
- Monitor task budgets and progress.
- Assist with the preparation of proposals.
- Support Project Managers with daily operations.
- Attend client, public, project, and staff meetings.
- Participate in seminars and training classes.
- Maintain client relations and a safe working environment.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or construction engineering, or concrete technology. Sophomore or junior status is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- You are self-motivated, organized, and have strong communication skills.
