About the role#
The Strategic Initiatives Leadership Fellow works directly with the Chief of Staff, CEO, and Executive Assistant. This one-year fellowship provides hands-on experience in nonprofit management and operations. You will support the strategic and operational goals of the organization while managing specific projects and external affairs. There is a possibility to extend the fellowship into a second year.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the office of the CEO, including scheduling and meeting preparation.
- Lead and support special projects and initiatives for the office of the CEO.
- Act as a liaison between the office of the CEO and internal or external stakeholders.
- Conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and organizational opportunities.
- Design and manage the execution of deliverables for the CUNY civic engagement grant.
- Support board meeting preparation, including agendas, materials, and minutes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance organizational efficiency.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in a relevant field like nonprofit management, public affairs, consulting, or business administration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A high level of discretion when handling confidential information.
