About the role#
Manchester Veterinary Services offers a DVM/VMD externship for students currently enrolled in an AVMA accredited veterinary school. This position provides clinical exposure in a supportive, collaborative environment with mentorship from multiple veterinarians. Externs gain hands-on experience in a practice that recently completed a significant facility and equipment expansion.
What you'll do#
- Assist in routine veterinary work and provide a high level of patient care.
- Participate in surgeries and diagnostics, including basic soft tissue and ophthalmic procedures.
- Collaborate with the clinical staff in a team-oriented setting.
- Engage in professional development opportunities and gain exposure to various veterinary practices within the network.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited veterinary school pursuing a VMD or DVM degree.
- Interest in developing clinical skills in wellness and dentistry.
- Ability to work with in-house lab capabilities, digital x-ray, ultrasound, and therapeutic laser equipment.

- Compensation: This is a paid position including a stipend to offset housing and travel costs.
- Term: Rolling.
- Eligibility: Open to students in majors including Biomedical Sciences, Nursing, Psychology, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Health Administration, and Kinesiology.
