DVM/VMD Extern

About the role#

Bay Beach Veterinary Emergency Hospital is seeking a DVM/VMD student extern to join our multi-doctor practice in Virginia Beach. This externship offers hands-on training and mentorship within a collaborative environment. Externs will work alongside a team of 19 employee veterinarians across our emergency and general practice locations, gaining experience in a clinical setting that balances patient care with high medical standards.

What you'll do#

• Assist in emergency medical procedures.
• Collaborate with a team of experienced veterinarians.
• Provide care for both companion animals and exotics.
• Engage in hands-on training and mentorship.
• Learn from experienced veterinary professionals.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School (VMD or DVM degree path).
• A strong interest in emergency medicine.
• Ability to maintain exceptional client communication.
• A commitment to learning and collaboration.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
