DVM/VMD Extern

About the role#

Buckeystown Veterinary Hospital offers a clinical externship for veterinary students interested in gaining practical experience within a mixed animal practice. Externs work alongside a team of four veterinarians, two Registered Veterinary Technicians, and a support staff of assistants. The hospital is equipped with in-house lab capabilities, digital x-ray, and an ultrasound unit, as well as a rehabilitation suite featuring an underwater treadmill.

What you'll do#

• Engage in veterinary clinical practice.
• Assist with wellness and rehabilitation procedures.
• Work with exotics, equines, and farm animals.
• Gain experience in various veterinary practices, with options for small animal general practice, canine rehabilitation, or mixed animal rotations.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School (VMD or DVM degree path).
• A demonstrated interest in mixed animal practice.
• A willingness to learn from experienced veterinarians.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
