About the role#
Buckeystown Veterinary Hospital offers externship opportunities for veterinary students interested in mixed animal practice. You will work alongside a team of four veterinarians in a setting that handles small animals, exotics, equines, and farm animals. This role provides exposure to diverse clinical cases and rehabilitation procedures in a collaborative hospital environment.
What you'll do#
- Engage in daily veterinary clinical practice.
- Assist the medical team with wellness exams and rehabilitation procedures.
- Gain hands-on experience working with a variety of species including exotics, equines, and farm animals.
- Utilize hospital equipment such as in-house labs, digital x-ray, and ultrasound.
- Participate in rehabilitation sessions using the underwater treadmill.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School pursuing a VMD or DVM degree.
- A genuine interest in mixed animal practice.
- Willingness to learn from experienced veterinarians and support staff.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
