About the role#
Woodlake Animal Hospital in Midlothian, Virginia, is looking for a veterinary extern to join our practice. We are an AAHA accredited hospital with a team of four veterinarians. We focus on high-quality integrative and preventative care and prioritize building relationships with our clients and patients.
What you'll do#
- Provide integrative and preventative care to patients.
- Collaborate with our experienced team of veterinarians and technicians.
- Utilize in-house lab capabilities, digital x-ray, and ultrasound equipment.
- Gain hands-on experience with basic and routine surgeries.
- Learn about acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.
- Receive mentorship from multiple veterinarians.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School in a DVM or VMD degree path.
- A warm, caring, and confident demeanor.
- An interest in working collaboratively with a veterinary team.
- A desire to learn about acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.

- Compensation: This is a paid externship that includes a stipend to help cover housing and travel costs.
