DVM/VMD Extern

About the role#

Woodlake Animal Hospital in Midlothian, Virginia, is seeking a DVM/VMD extern to join our four-doctor practice. As an AAHA-accredited hospital, we focus on providing high-quality integrative and preventative care through a high-touch approach that prioritizes strong relationships with our clients and patients.

What you'll do#

• Provide high-quality integrative and preventative care under the guidance of experienced mentors.
• Engage directly with clients and patients to deliver exceptional veterinary service.
• Collaborate with our team of veterinarians and technicians in a supportive, high-functioning environment.
• Utilize our facility's resources, including in-house lab capabilities, digital x-ray, and ultrasound.
• Gain practical experience with basic and routine surgeries.
• Explore clinical applications of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an AVMA-accredited veterinary school (VMD or DVM degree path).
• A warm, caring, and confident professional demeanor.
• A genuine interest in collaborating with experienced DVMs and technician teams.
• An eagerness to learn about integrative medicine and surgical procedures.
