DVM/VMD Extern

About the role#

Lake Forest Animal Hospital in Forest, Virginia, is seeking a veterinary extern to join its team. This role provides an opportunity to work within a small animal practice that offers general, emergency, surgical, and dental services. Externs will work alongside an established team of veterinarians and support staff in a collaborative environment.

What you'll do#

• Assist veterinarians with routine examinations.
• Participate in basic soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.
• Gain experience with dental procedures in a dedicated dental suite.
• Engage in client education.
• Support the veterinary team in a variety of clinical tasks.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School (VMD or DVM degree path).
• A strong interest in gaining experience in veterinary medicine.
• A desire to learn from experienced veterinarians.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment.
• A passion for providing exceptional patient care.
