About the role#
Lake Forest Animal Hospital in Forest, Virginia, is seeking a DVM/VMD extern to join their small animal practice. This externship provides an opportunity to work alongside an established team of veterinarians in a practice that offers general, emergency, surgical, and dental services. The hospital is equipped with in-house lab capabilities, digital X-ray, ultrasound, and therapeutic laser technology.
What you'll do#
- Assist veterinarians with routine examinations.
- Participate in basic soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.
- Gain experience with dental procedures using the practice's dedicated dental suite.
- Engage in client education.
- Support the veterinary team across a variety of clinical tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School in a DVM or VMD degree path.
- A strong interest in gaining experience in veterinary medicine.
- A desire to learn from experienced veterinarians.
