About the role#
Arnold Veterinary Hospital offers a veterinary student externship designed to provide hands-on clinical experience in a small animal practice. Externs work alongside a team of veterinarians to provide quality patient care and maintain healthy client relationships. This role includes opportunities to participate in mentorship and clinical training, as well as the chance to connect with multiple practices within the VetEvolve network.
What you'll do#
- Provide quality patient care within a clinical setting.
- Maintain healthy client relationships through meaningful communication.
- Work with a Fear Free certified veterinarian to utilize low-stress handling techniques.
- Gain hands-on experience in areas including wellness, dentistry, and routine surgery.
- Participate in clinical training and gain exposure to daytime emergency medicine.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School (VMD or DVM degree path).
- Strong clinical skills in wellness, dentistry, and routine surgery.
- Experience with or interest in daytime emergency medicine.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a cooperative team environment.
- Ability to provide meaningful communication to clients.

- Compensation: This is a paid externship that includes a stipend to offset the cost of housing and travel.
