About the role#

Arnold Veterinary Hospital offers a hands-on externship program for veterinary students seeking clinical experience in a well-established small animal practice. This role provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced veterinarians, including a Fear Free certified practitioner, in a supportive environment focused on quality patient care and client communication.

What you'll do#

• Provide quality patient care in a clinical setting.
• Maintain healthy client relationships through meaningful communication.
• Work alongside a Fear Free certified veterinarian using low-stress handling techniques.
• Gain hands-on experience in wellness, dentistry, and routine surgery.
• Participate in mentorship and clinical training, including exposure to daytime emergency medicine.
• Utilize hospital equipment such as in-house lab capabilities, digital x-ray, and ultrasound.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School (VMD or DVM degree path).
• Strong clinical interest in wellness, dentistry, and routine surgery.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a cooperative team environment.
• Ability to provide clear and compassionate communication to clients.
