    About the role#

    Big Lick Veterinary Services in Roanoke, Virginia, is seeking DVM/VMD externs to join their practice. This externship provides students with hands-on clinical experience and mentorship from experienced veterinarians within the VetEvolve network. The program is designed to offer exposure to team-based veterinary practices while supporting professional development.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide medical care to animals.
    • Assist veterinarians with daily clinical tasks.
    • Engage in client communication.
    • Participate in team-based veterinary practices.
    • Learn through mentorship from experienced veterinary professionals.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an AVMA-accredited Veterinary School (VMD or DVM degree path).
    • A strong interest in veterinary medicine.
    • A desire for mentorship and professional growth.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Commitment to the core values of serve, evolve, and trust.

    • Location: Roanoke, Virginia.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: Paid (stipend provided for housing and travel).
