About the role#
Tipton Ridge Veterinary Medical Center offers a hands-on externship for veterinary students seeking to gain practical experience in a collaborative environment. This role provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced veterinarians and support staff in a facility that has served the Pulaski community for over 30 years.
What you'll do#
- Provide high standard medical care to patients.
- Assist veterinarians in surgeries and treatments.
- Perform diagnostic tests using advanced equipment, including a complete blood work laboratory, ultrasound, and digital x-ray systems.
- Gain experience with basic soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries.
- Work with exotics and collaborate with a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist.
- Engage in a collaborative team environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School pursuing a VMD or DVM degree.
- Interest in mentorship from experienced veterinarians.
- Commitment to learning through hands-on practice.

- Location: Pulaski, Virginia.
- This is an on-site, full-time externship.
- The position is paid, with a stipend provided to offset housing and travel costs.
