About the role#
Fairfax Animal Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia, is looking for a DVM/VMD student extern. This hospital has served the local community for over seven decades. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians to gain hands-on clinical experience in a supportive environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist with patient care and participate in daily veterinary tasks.
- Learn from multiple veterinarians, including those with specialized training in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.
- Gain exposure to daytime emergency medicine.
- Work directly with a Fear Free certified veterinarian.
What you'll need#
- You must be currently enrolled in an AVMA accredited veterinary school in a DVM or VMD program.
- A strong interest in veterinary medicine.
- A willingness to learn and gain hands-on experience.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Location & details#
- Location: Falls Church, Virginia.
- This is an on-site, full-time externship.
- The position is paid with a stipend provided to help cover housing and travel costs.
