DVM/VMD Extern

About the role#

Fairfax Animal Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia, is seeking a DVM/VMD student for an externship. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience within a practice that has served the local community for over seventy years. Externs receive a stipend to help offset housing and travel costs.

What you'll do#

• Receive mentorship from experienced veterinarians, including opportunities to work with a Fear Free certified veterinarian.
• Gain exposure to daytime emergency medicine.
• Assist in patient care and participate in a variety of veterinary tasks alongside your mentors.
• Connect with multiple practices within the broader network.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School (DVM or VMD degree path).
• A strong interest in veterinary medicine and a willingness to learn.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
