About the role#
This externship provides veterinary students with hands-on training and mentorship within a collaborative clinical environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals at Animal Medical Centers of Loudoun, gaining exposure to comprehensive care for dogs, cats, and small exotics. The role focuses on professional growth, clinical skill development, and learning effective patient care communication.
What you'll do#
- Support veterinary care for dogs, cats, and small exotics.
- Engage in hands-on training and mentorship from a team of seven doctors.
- Participate in advanced surgical and imaging consult services provided by visiting specialists.
- Learn and practice low-stress handling techniques.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient care.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School (VMD or DVM degree path).
- Strong clinical skills in wellness and surgery.
- Interest in holistic treatments including acupuncture, herbal medicine, and homeopathy.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple veterinary specialists and diverse patient populations.
- A commitment to professional growth and mentorship.
