DVM/VMD Extern

About the role#

The DVM/VMD Externship at the Emergency Animal Hospital of Ellicott City offers veterinary students the opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience in a collaborative, supportive environment. Externs receive mentorship from experienced veterinarians and engage in clinical training while working alongside a dedicated support staff.

What you'll do#

• Provide veterinary medical care.
• Assist in emergency procedures.
• Collaborate with veterinary staff to deliver care.
• Engage in clinical training and receive mentorship from experienced veterinarians.
• Gain exposure to emergency medicine, wellness, dentistry, and surgery.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School (VMD or DVM degree path).
• An interest in developing clinical skills in wellness, dentistry, and surgery.
• A desire to work in a collaborative and positive team environment.

• Compensation: This is a paid position with a stipend provided to offset housing and travel costs.
