DVM/VMD Extern

About the role#

This externship at Magruder-Tabb Animal Clinic in Yorktown, Virginia, offers veterinary students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art, 9,800 square-foot facility. Externs will work alongside experienced veterinarians to build clinical skills, gain confidence, and explore a career in small animal practice. This is a paid, on-site position with rolling terms.

What you'll do#

• Participate in comprehensive emergency care.
• Assist with routine medical, surgical, and dental services.
• Engage in mentorship opportunities with experienced veterinarians.
• Build skills and confidence through assigned mentors.
• Connect with multiple practices within the VetEvolve network.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an AVMA-accredited Veterinary School (VMD or DVM degree path).
• A strong desire to build a meaningful career in veterinary medicine.
• An eagerness to learn and connect with experienced veterinary professionals.
• Ability to adapt to a supportive work environment.
• Interest in both emergency care and routine medical services.
