About the role#
Mount Airy Veterinary Associates offers a hands-on externship for veterinary students. You will work alongside two experienced veterinarians and a dedicated support staff in a companion animal clinic. This role is designed for students who want to learn clinical skills in a collaborative, open-minded environment.
What you'll do#
- Provide preventive health care for small animals.
- Gain experience with in-house laboratory capabilities.
- Participate in digital x-ray and ultrasound procedures.
- Engage in therapeutic laser treatments for companion animals.
- Support soft tissue surgery services.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited veterinary school in a VMD or DVM degree path.
- A desire to learn from experienced veterinarians.
- Strong clinical skills in wellness and dentistry.
- Interest in performing basic soft tissue and ophthalmic surgeries.
- A willingness to work with exotics.
