About the role#

Beltsville Veterinary Hospital offers a clinical externship for veterinary students seeking hands-on experience in a collaborative environment. Located in Beltsville, Maryland, the hospital focuses on providing quality preventative care and effective client communication. This externship provides mentorship from multiple veterinarians and exposure to a variety of clinical cases.

What you'll do#

• Participate in the veterinary care of companion animals.
• Gain practical experience in a clinical setting, including work with exotics.
• Assist with basic soft tissue and ophthalmic surgeries.
• Utilize hospital equipment, including in-house lab capabilities, digital x-ray, and ultrasound.
• Engage with a collaborative team to provide patient care.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School (DVM or VMD degree path).
• Strong interest in clinical skills related to wellness and dentistry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients.
• Interest in working within a team-oriented environment.
