DVM/VMD Extern

About the role#

Eldersburg Veterinary Hospital in Sykesville, Maryland, is seeking a DVM/VMD extern to join their team. This externship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a modern facility that has served the community since 1976. Externs will work alongside three experienced veterinarians and a dedicated support staff, with access to mentorship opportunities and exposure to cutting-edge technology including dental radiology and cold laser therapy.

What you'll do#

• Provide veterinary care to companion animals.
• Assist experienced veterinarians during examinations and clinical procedures.
• Participate in educational activities with the veterinary team.
• Engage with clients and provide care recommendations.
• Contribute to a supportive and trusting team culture.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School (VMD or DVM degree path).
• A strong interest in veterinary medicine.
• A commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
• A desire to provide exceptional patient care.
• The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
