About the role#
Hoffman Animal Hospital in Annapolis, Maryland, is looking for a veterinary student extern. This role is based at a general practice focused on small animal preventative care, medicine, dentistry, and basic soft tissue surgery. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians and a skilled technician team in a collaborative environment.
What you'll do#
- Participate in the day-to-day operations of the veterinary practice.
- Assist with small animal preventative care and medical treatments.
- Learn from mentorship provided by experienced veterinarians.
- Engage with clients to explain pet health needs.
- Contribute to the team environment at the hospital.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited veterinary school (VMD or DVM degree path).
- A strong interest in small animal preventative care, medicine, and surgery.
- Familiarity with Fear Free practices.
- A willingness to learn and work collaboratively with the team.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with staff and clients.
