About the role#
This externship at Companion Animal Clinic offers veterinary students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, AAHA-accredited practice. You will work alongside a team of six veterinarians and multiple licensed veterinary technicians. The clinic serves both companion animals and exotics and maintains a focus on low-stress handling through its No Poke Program. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2026.
What you'll do#
- Receive mentorship from multiple veterinarians.
- Assist in clinical procedures and support the veterinary staff.
- Work with companion animals and exotics.
- Help manage medical and vacation boarding.
- Engage in professional development opportunities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an AVMA accredited Veterinary School in a DVM or VMD degree path.
- An interest in working with companion animals and exotics.
- Strong clinical skills in wellness and dentistry.
- A willingness to learn and work within a team environment.
- The ability to build relationships with clients and team members.
