About the role#
Verkada is hiring software engineering interns to join our backend team. You will work across the full software stack and collaborate with teammates to launch products for customers around the world. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site at our headquarters in San Mateo, California. We provide visa sponsorship for this role.
What you'll do#
- Build scalable distributed systems that handle traffic from hundreds of thousands of devices.
- Work with high concurrency key-value storage systems and Postgres relational databases.
- Deploy services using Terraform and Kubernetes.
- Define and improve microservice architectures focused on low latency and high reliability.
- Design and develop features that incorporate computer vision.
- Use Python or Golang to design and implement clean APIs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field, with a graduation date by June 2028.
- Prior internship experience in developing and launching products.
- Familiarity with Python or Golang, Distributed Systems, Operating Systems, AWS, and Docker.
- Ability to work on-site in San Mateo during Winter or Summer 2027.
