About the role#
This student worker position is based within the Interventional Radiology team. You will work under the direct, personal supervision of a registered radiologic technologist, sonographer, or nuclear medicine technologist to provide support for clinical exams.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the performance of high quality radiographic, sonographic, or nuclear medicine exams.
- Provide patient care, emotional support, and problem solving in accordance with hospital policy.
- Initiate requests for patient transportation.
- Direct patients to imaging rooms.
- Stock and obtain supplies as directed by your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited School of Radiation Sciences, Sonography, or Nuclear Medicine Program.
- Current student status in an accredited School of Radiation Sciences.
- CPR-BLS certification is required for continued employment.
- Previous clinical work experience in an acute care or trauma setting is preferred.
- One year of clinical experience in an accredited program is preferred.
Location & details#
- This role is located in Richmond, Virginia.
- The position is on-site and part-time.
- Schedules are established with your manager and may include weekday evening and weekend shifts.
- Physical requirements include prolonged standing, walking, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
