About the role#
The Internship Coordinator supports the mission of Ursinus College by fostering student growth through experiential learning. This role connects academic study with professional development by building internship partnerships, advising students, and collaborating with faculty to expand access to high-impact learning. The coordinator also leads assessment efforts to evaluate program effectiveness and student career readiness.
What you'll do#
- Advise students individually on internship exploration, applications, professional communication, resumes, and interview preparation.
- Cultivate relationships with regional employers, nonprofit organizations, alumni, and community partners to expand internship opportunities.
- Manage internship processes, records, assessment, and reporting.
- Develop and implement assessment strategies to evaluate internship quality, student learning outcomes, and program effectiveness.
- Track student participation and internship outcomes to support institutional assessment and accreditation efforts.
- Guide students through internship registration, approval, and reflection processes.
- Coordinate employer engagement events including networking programs, career panels, and internship fairs.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in higher education, counseling, student affairs, communications, business, or a related field.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in higher education, career services, student support, employer relations, or experiential learning.
- Demonstrated commitment to student development and inclusive student support practices.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and employers.
