About the role#
UR Thompson Health is hiring a Pharmacy Intern on a per diem basis. You will work with medical staff and the Director of Pharmacy to promote the safe and effective use of medications for patients and residents. This role requires availability during days, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
What you'll do#
- Provide professional services in medication distribution and compounding.
- Support clinical areas including drug information, formulary management, and medication reconciliation.
- Gather and disseminate information through daily communication.
- Assist with medication error prevention and adverse drug reaction monitoring.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information regarding patients, staff, and the health system.
- Use pharmaceutical knowledge to make recommendations under the supervision of a pharmacist.
What you'll need#
- A current New York State Pharmacy Intern Permit.
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a school of pharmacy.
- One year of experience in a hospital, nursing home, or institutional setting is preferred.
- A willingness to learn and accept feedback to support your professional development.
