About the role#
We are looking for student workers to provide technical support during 24-hour clinical studies. You will ensure that study devices, sensors, and data systems operate correctly. This role involves hands-on manual testing, including wearing continuous glucose monitors and other on-body sensors to validate device functionality and comfort. This is a position for students interested in medical device technology, quality assurance, and technical operations.
What you'll do#
- Provide real-time technical support to clinical staff and participants during 24-hour study sessions.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and data-sync issues with sensors and devices.
- Wear CGMs and other on-body sensors as a test subject to validate device data accuracy and comfort.
- Monitor systems throughout study sessions to catch and report technical issues.
- Communicate with clinical staff to minimize disruption to study participants.
- Log device errors, incidents, and troubleshooting steps.
- Follow study protocols, safety procedures, and data privacy requirements.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field (3rd or 4th year).
- Comfort with hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Willingness to wear on-body medical sensors for extended periods.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including overnight, weekend, and holiday hours.
- Strong attention to detail and reliable attendance.
- Ability to follow structured protocols and maintain data confidentiality.
- Preferred: Experience with software testing, IoT sensors, basic scripting, or work in a clinical or lab setting.
