About the role#
The Office of the Dean of the College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences is hiring student workers to serve as Content Producers for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role focuses on planning and creating social media content for the Arts & Sciences platforms, including Instagram and Facebook. You will gain hands-on experience in higher education marketing, photography, video production, and graphic design.
What you'll do#
- Meet weekly with the Arts & Sciences Content Team to brainstorm ideas, plan coverage, and discuss social media strategy.
- Help facilitate and conduct on-camera interviews with students on Grounds.
- Capture photo and video content of student events and campus activities.
- Post updates and content to the Arts & Sciences Instagram story.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a UVA undergraduate student in good academic standing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability, punctuality, and responsiveness.
- Comfort appearing on camera.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing coverage demands.
- Prior experience with social media management, content production, photography, or videography is a plus.
- Familiarity with editing software like Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or Final Cut is encouraged.
- Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva, Photoshop, or Illustrator is encouraged.

- Location: Charlottesville, Virginia.
- Modality: On-site.
- Term: Fall 2026, Winter 2027, and Spring 2027.
- Compensation: $17.50 per hour for Student Assistants and $20.00 per hour for Student Managers.
- Time Commitment: Approximately 8-10 hours per week, with variation based on coverage needs.
