About the role#
The Community Investment Collaborative (CIC) is looking for a Programs Research Assistant to join their team. This project-based role focuses on building a research and recruitment pipeline for the Culpeper Orange Entrepreneur Workshop. You will work directly with the Entrepreneurial Impact Manager to support local entrepreneurs. This is a paid position for undergraduate students eligible for federal work-study.
What you'll do#
- Collect and organize data to support program initiatives.
- Research existing business resources, community demographics, and entrepreneur networks.
- Connect with community partners and entrepreneurs.
- Assist with program recruitment efforts.
- Organize and track business leads.
- Collaborate with the team on a 10-hour weekly schedule.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student at the University of Virginia.
- Federal work-study eligibility.
- Strong research, data collection, and organizational skills.
- Comfort reaching out to partners and entrepreneurs via phone and email.
- Proficiency with G Suite technology.
- An interest in small business, entrepreneurship, and community outreach.
- A desire to support individuals from low-income backgrounds.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Location & details#
- Location: Charlottesville, Virginia.
- Modality: Hybrid (at least one day per week in the office).
- Compensation: $15.00 per hour.
- Term: Fall 2026 through Spring 2027 (September 21, 2026, to May 14, 2027).
