About the role#
The University of Virginia Athletics Ticket Office is looking for a student assistant to help with ticket sales, customer service, and event operations. You will support the office during regular business hours and assist with gameday logistics for football and basketball events. This role requires 10 to 20 hours per week, with a schedule that can be adjusted to fit your classes.
What you'll do#
- Provide customer service to patrons in person, by phone, and via email.
- Process ticket sales at the window and over the phone.
- Stay informed on office policies and upcoming events.
- Handle administrative tasks and run errands as needed.
- Organize and print paper tickets.
- Assist with gameday operations, including crowd control and scanning digital or paper tickets.
- Manage designated student entrances during games.
What you'll need#
- You must be a current undergraduate student at UVA.
- Strong customer service skills and professional work habits.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Dependability and the ability to multitask in an organized way.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Charlottesville, Virginia.
- Work is on-site.
- The pay rate is $13.00 per hour.
- Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, plus required gameday coverage.
- The dress code is business casual.
