The Student Engagement Coordinator works within the Haslam College of Business to foster a culture of belonging and professional development among the student body. This full-time, on-site role supports departmental goals through a blend of communication strategy, event programming, and data-driven assessment. You will work closely with leadership to execute initiatives that help students discover their potential and achieve career goals.
What you'll do#
- Create and coordinate student-facing communications, including newsletters and undergraduate updates.
- Manage social media content and digital signage to support office initiatives.
- Support the planning and implementation of student programming, such as engagement fairs and department events.
- Provide guidance and oversight to student workers assisting with communication initiatives.
- Track and maintain student participation, attendance, and reporting data.
- Conduct surveys and interviews to gather feedback, maintaining assessment reports to evaluate the effectiveness of programs.
- Create and maintain communication materials, templates, and photography assets.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. A Master’s degree in a related field may be accepted in lieu of experience.
- Two years of work experience in communications, marketing, PR, or college student personnel. Relevant internships may count toward this requirement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in graphic design and social media best practices.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating with various university stakeholders.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
