This position serves as a lead professional staff member responsible for the day-to-day operations, event management, and facility oversight of the Student Union. The role ensures a safe and welcoming environment for all users while advancing the campus community. You will supervise a functional area of the Student Union and play a key role in the professional development of the student staff team.
What you'll do#
- Provide facility oversight and management for events and meetings, including pre-event planning and consultation on logistics and policies.
- Supervise an operational functional area within the Student Union, such as event set-ups, the information desk, or the student building manager program.
- Coordinate the student employee program, including recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, and ongoing performance coaching for over 100 student employees.
- Design, implement, and assess co-curricular learning experiences that foster student engagement, leadership development, and transferable professional skills.
- Collaborate with campus partners and student organizations to develop educational opportunities and manage equipment and vendor relations.
- Monitor facility safety and security, resolve operational issues, and enforce building policies to support the student experience.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree (or 4 years of relevant facility management experience).
- Demonstrated experience in event operations or facility management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with diverse constituencies.
- Customer service skills and the ability to exercise good judgment in time-sensitive situations.
- Proficiency with PC and Mac operating systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and delegate tasks effectively to student staff.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for sponsorship.

- Work Modality: On-site (some remote work may be permitted when the event schedule allows).
