Medical Director, Student Health Center - UTK

About the role#

The Medical Director organizes, administers, and directs all medical activities of the University of Tennessee Student Health Center. This role provides executive medical management and direct outpatient ambulatory care for students while partnering with the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Life and the Health Care Administrator to ensure efficient operations.

What you'll do#

• Oversee the professional activities of physicians, physical therapists, nurse practitioners, and the laboratory and radiology departments.
• Develop and implement operational policies and long-range medical plans consistent with the mission and goals of the Student Health Center.
• Supervise medical staff and conduct regular meetings for medical professionals.
• Provide medical expertise to inform operational planning and service provision.
• Deliver direct patient care in an ambulatory setting.

What you'll need#

• Doctoral Degree (MD or DO).
• 5 years of post-graduate medical experience.
• 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of medical coding and documentation for billing purposes.
• Excellent communication skills to relay medical information to diverse populations.
• Proficiency in a Windows-based environment.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.

• Salary: Minimum starting salary of $230,000, commensurate with education and experience.
