Community Health Services Specialist – Student Health

About the role#

The Community Health Services Specialist is a full-time, non-exempt position dedicated to supporting student health and wellness. This role acts as a primary point of contact for health-related inquiries and provides operational coordination for the Student Health Center.

What you'll do#

• Manage student-facing support, including monitoring shared inboxes and intake queues.
• Perform first-line triage for health and illness support requests and apply standard guidance scripts for student absences.
• Coordinate logistics for vaccination and testing clinics.
• Supervise student workers and health ambassadors, including scheduling and training.
• Prepare data reports and provide administrative support to the Community Health Programs and Data Manager.
• Assist with event logistics, including facility reservations, supply management, and participant check-in.
• Participate in student outreach activities focused on health and wellness.

What you'll need#

• A bachelor’s degree in public health, health administration, student services, human development, or social services.
• Experience in customer service or student-facing roles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to perform tasks such as standing, walking, and reaching on an frequent basis.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds on a seldom basis and work occasional evening or weekend events.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
